Slim Beauty Knot
The Slim Beauty was born in the 1990's and still has a following today for joining tippets or leaders to a mainline, due to the fact that it is a strong, low profile knot that is easy to learn. It is an excellent knot for connecting a monofilament or fluorocarbon leader to a braided mainline.

Commence the knot by tying a double overhand knot in the thicker line, generally your leader (represented here in pink).

You can now pull the knot semi-tight and it will open to form a figure eight, consisting of two loops.

Create a long double in the thinner line (yellow), generally a braided mainline.

Pass the doubled thin line (yellow) through the loops in the leader (pink) line in an 'over-under-over' fashion. You can now pull the knot a little tighter to stop the braid from slipping back through.

Start wrapping the double of the braid (yellow) around the leader (pink).

Continue and make at least 4 wraps up the leader (pink).

Now make the same number of wraps back over the first set of wraps towards the knot.

Pass the loop of the double in the braid (yellow) through the first wrap created.

Moisten the lines and start working the knot down by applying tension to both the leader (pink), braid (yellow) and the leader tag end. Be sure the wraps all lay neatly.

Bed the knot down firmly, trim all of tag ends and your Slim Beauty knot is ready to fish.
