Quality materials, proven processes and our own signature coatings, saw the development of a budget braid that is smooth and slick, handles and lays well, and casts long. As with its namesake in our monofilament range, Platinum Braid needed to be easy to fish with, smooth to cast and angler friendly, without the complications of wind knots and handling issues.

Platypus has been Australian Owned and Made since 1898, with the original lines made from twisted linen, like very small rope. Over 120 years of fishing line design, development and manufacturing experience has made it possible to manufacture a world class braided line, at an affordable price, right here in Australia.
