We're all looking for that secret weapon that could get us the bite or land us that new species or PB and that's why those of us here at Tackle Tactics get super pumped when a box containing new ZMan models or colours arrive. I'm sure that many of you feel the same way, so I thought I would take a moment to break down the recent colour arrivals from ZMan, list the models that each colour is available in, just in case you're looking to track a couple down and outline a little about the applications for each colour. Fish on!
Bloody Mary Sunday
Initially only available in one model, the 4" DieZel MinnowZ, we had to add this colour because it is going to be dynamite in low light and dirty water applications for species such as mangrove jack, barramundi, mulloway and flathead, to name a few. A darker, silhouette back transitions into a translucent orange / brown belly that will create an excellent silhouette in low light conditions and tannin and dirty water, while still appearing natural enough to hold its own in brighter and clear water conditions.
The mix of fine silver, gold and red glitter provides a realistic and subtle flash, to attract fish and trigger strikes, while the larger black fleck breaks up the solid colours to create a more natural look. Bloody Mary Sunday is sure to be an instant winner for northern anglers fishing dirtier water for barramundi and mangrove jack, while also ticking the box for southern anglers fishing early mornings and late arvos, along with post rain water conditions for flathead, mulloway and more. Don't wait until Sunday, tie this one on anytime.

Dark N Stormy
Dark N Stormy has become an instant favourite due to its versatility across all water colours in both the fresh and salt water. It features a menacing purple back, like the storm rolling in, with a clear belly and large silver glitter that will attract the fish's attention like a flash of lightning from the gloomy sky. This combination gives us the benefits of a strong silhouette from the back colour, ticking the box for tannin and dirty water conditions, along with the clear belly and silver fleck for a realistic baitfish presentation, even in crystal clear water.
Initially available in two versatile and popular profiles, the 3" MinnowZ will be catching everything from bass and golden perch in the fresh, to barramundi, mangrove jack, flathead, mulloway, trevally and more in the salt. The ZMan 4" Scented Jerk ShadZ in Dark N Stormy will be deadly cast to pelagic species, dropped down for a snapper or mulloway, or flicked around the rivers and estuaries for a stack of different species. The lightning won't be the only thing getting to strike when you tie on a Dark N Stormy.

Slam Shady
After fishing this colour following ICAST in the US, with a myriad of species eating it, we couldn't wait for it to become available to Australian anglers. It's difficult to capture how cool this colour is in a photo, however it looks awesome in the hand and more importantly even better in the water. Pearl has always been a popular colour and the design principles behind the Slam Shady colour are strong.
The idea behind Slam Shady was to create a natural, pearlish base colour, designed to take on the tint of the water colour (in an attempt to blend in as a baitfish does), then accent this base with a blend of fine silver and gold glitter that is enough to make it stand out from the rest of the bait school, attract the attention of the fish and get slammed!
Initially available in two popular and versatile paddle tail profiles, the 3" MinnowZ and 4" DieZel Minnowz, for those chasing flathead, mulloway, mangrove jack, barramundi, bass, golden perch and more. There are also two jerkbait profiles, the 4" and 5" Scented Jerk ShadZ, for everything from reef and pelagic species, to the rivers, creeks, estuaries and into the fresh. A versatile colour, in a selection of popular models that can be fished in almost any water colour and conditions.

Beer Run
We'll raise a glass to this colour... what a ripper!
This is another all waters, all species colour, for when you want a little more pop that the Slam Shady. Its translucent pearl back takes on the tint of the water and its clear belly with gold glitter creates some natural scale flash to attract fish and trigger strikes. Early sessions with this colour have produced plenty of fish and a wide variety of species. It will excel in dirty water and low light, however it is a dynamite colour in all conditions.
Initially available in three models, with the first batch of slim, segmented jerkbaits, the 6" DarterZ, disappearing rapidly to the tuna and pelagic guys, while also landing coral trout and other reef species, along with some quality flathead. The 4" DieZel MinnowZ found a home immediately in the arsenal of barramundi and mangrove jack anglers, although we know how versatile this popular paddle tail can be. Finally the 4" Scented Jerk ShadZ in this colour is going to be a bite size snack for mackerel, tuna, tailor, salmon and other pelagic species, a mixed bag of reefies and into the rivers, creeks, estuaries and fresh.
