30. Impoundment Barra Plastics Kit

Anglers often travel thousands of kilometres to target big impoundment barramundi, with the goal being a metre plus fish, while fish of 120cm and even 130cm are becoming more common. Here's the soft plastics kit that we believe should be along for the journey when heading in search of an impoundment barra.

Paddle tail plastics are a go-to and it's hard to go past the tested and proven ZMan 6" SwimmerZ, a plastic that has accounted for numbers and also multiple world record fish.

Another big paddle tail that has been scoring results is the ZMan 8" Mag swimZ, a plastic that seems quite large until you are face to face with a bucket mouth barra and the Mag swimZ looks more like a snack.

When it comes to jigheads it's hard to go past the brutally strong, black nickel chemically sharpened hooks of the HeadlockZ HD, SwimlockZ and War Heads.

When it comes to surface fishing, buzzing the structure, weed pockets and edges with a ZMan 4" Hard Leg FrogZ is hard to beat, rigged weedless on a TT Lures 6/0 ChinlockZ or ChinlockZ SWS jighead. If you prefer to fish it slow and pop it, then the 4" Pop FrogZ is another option.
