Arbor Knot

Arbor Knot

The Arbor knot is designed for attaching monofilament line or backing to the spool when spooling.

1. From the front of the reel, pass the line around the spool.

2. With the tag end, start a basic overhand knot by passing the tag end under the main line.

3. Finish the first overhand knot by passing the tag end through the newly created loop.

4. Tension down the first overhand knot, but do not fully tighten.

5. Create a second overhand knot in the tag end.

6. Trim the tag end close, and work the two overhand knots down tight against the spool. You are now ready to wind the line onto your reel.
