20. Land Based Soft Plastics
Tips and techniques for fishing soft plastics land based in the rivers, creeks and estuaries.
When fishing land based it's important to keep an eye out for bait and structure as these are two of the keys to attracting fish to the area. Man made structure may include rock, walls, pylons, stormwater drains and moored boats, while natural structure may include mangrove edges, drop offs, depressions in the bottom, rock and fallen timber.
Casting up current and bring your lure back with the current can increase your catch rate as the lure presents more naturally and it is easier to sink the plastic down with the current and control it on the retrieve.
Mix up your jighead weights, plastics and retrieves until you find what works in the area that you are fishing.
