12. Soft Plastic Frogs
Frogs are designed to create a disturbance on the surface of the water, calling predators in the area to the lure. They can be retrieved quite quickly with a steady wind, often referred to as 'buzzing' frogs, as their legs create a bubbling and gurgling sound in the surface layer of water. This gives species like barramundi no time to think about whether or not to eat the lure and attracts some brutal surface strikes. FrogZ can also be slowed down and twitched across lilies, paused in weed pockets or pulsed along a lay down snag.
ZMan do a 4" Hard Leg FrogZ and smaller 2.75" Finesse FrogZ which are ideal for buzzing across the top or working slow, along with a Pop FrogZ which has a cupped face allowing you to punch the Pop FrogZ forward with a sweep of the rod tip to create a popping and gurgling sound, while also displacing a spray of water. One of the advantages of ZMan's ElaZtech material is its buoyancy, meaning you can pause the FrogZ in pockets and around structure and they don't sink into the weed and out of the strike zone.
