Designed by the team at Okuma Australia to suit our target species and techniques, Kaiyo overhead rods are available in trolling versions rated at 10kg, 15kg and 24kg ratings in the popular 6’0” length, giving the leverage advantage to the angler when targeting larger offshore species. Casting versions at 7'0" join the line up with 8-15kg and 15-24kg choices.
Whether trolling, dropping baits or lures into the depths, Kaiyo is highly capable, with Okuma’s patented UFR Technology providing increased durability, strength, sensitivity and lifting power, with up to three times the strength and lifting power of a standard rod blank. This is achieved without increasing the rod weight, thanks to longitudinal fibres around the blank in the tip section of the rod.
The quality and performance continue beyond the rod blank, with heavy-duty 304 stainless steel HD series guides on trolling models and SeaGuide on the casting rods, heavy-duty reel seat, oversize shrink wrap grips and ABS gimbal.
